African U18 and U20 Combined Championships: 5 medals including 1 gold for Tunisia

Tunisian athletes Rayane Cherni on Tuesday won the gold medal in the 10,000 m walk (U20) and Oussama Farhat the silver during the 2nd African U18 and U20 Combined Championships, organised in Lusaka (Zambia) on April 29-May 3.

During the first two days, Tunisian athletes bagged one silver and two bronze medals.

The silver went to Ghofrane Hmidi in shot put who also won the bronze in the discus competition, while the other bronze medal went to Zeineb Gharsallah in pole vault.

The U18 team is composed of Zeineb Gharsallah (pole vault), Ghofrane Hmidi (discus and shot put), Rania Mrad (combined sports), Imène Essaï and Nesrine Cherni (5000 m walk), Rayane Cherni (10 km walk), Rayane Belhassan (high jump).

The U20 athletes are Zmorda Kharji (hammer throw), Mayssa Boughdir and Oussama Farhat (10 km walk).
