Angolan Referee Attends Elite a Course (

The Angolan international referee Marximina Bernardo will represent the country in the Elite A course on 2-7 October in Cameroon, organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Angop learnt on Tuesday.

According to a note from the CAF, the 19 main referees and 17 selected assistant referees must submit a medical certificate stating fitness for the training programme.

Besides the Angolan, the course will also count on the participation of referees from Cameroon, Guinea Conakry, Zambia, Morocco, Ethiopia, Senegal, Kenya, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Egypt, Uganda, Tunisia, Togo, Africa Swaziland and South Sudan.

This will be the third participation of the Angolan referee in the action of this genre, having already attended it in 2011, also in Cameroon, and 2013 in Egypt.

Marximina Bernardo, aged 36, is in Congo Brazzaville to officiate in African games taking place 4-19 this September.

In 12 years of career, with a university degree in Human Movement, the referee was already involved in several international games under aegis of CAF and FIFA, especially in the female African Championship, held in 2012 in Equatorial Guinea, where she officiated in the final.

The Angolan Football Federation (FAF) controls four international women referees, including Marximina Bernardo, Tania Duarte (main), Adália Jeremiah and Luisa Luhaco (assistants).
