Athletics – 1st Arab U23 Championship: Nearly 216 athletes from 17 countries expected in Tunis

Nearly 216 athletes from 17 countries will take part in the first edition of the Arab Under-23 Athletics Championship, which will take place from May 20 to 24 at the Radès Athletics Stadium, the event's organisers told a press conference held Thursday in Tunis.

The conference was attended by representatives of the Arab Atheletics Federation and Olympic champions Mohamed Gammoudi and Habiba Gheribi.

The National Technical Director of the FTA, Hammadi Ben Saïd told TAP that Tunisia will be represented by 40 athletes (20 girls and 20 boys).

Following is the list of participating countries: Tunisia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Yemen, Egypt, Lebanon, Djibouti, Somalia, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Libya and the United Arab Emirates.
