A partnership agreement was signed on Monday, February 13, 2012 in Lomé between the Institute of Research for the Development (IRD) and the Universities of Togo, with the aim of strengthening scientific research and training.
Since December, the education sector is seriously undermined by teacher strikes down a litany of just demands. By signing an agreement with the Federation of Education Trade Unions, the government appears to resolve the dispute in the sector.
“Courses have resumed Tuesday morning at the University of Lomé” in a statement published this morning by the University Chancellor’s office. The resumption of classes came after the tripartite agreement signed on January 13 between the Government, the University and Students. The agreement put an end in principle, to a crisis over a month in public universities of Togo.
