The commitment to the process of social responsibility (CSR) has become a necessity for Tunisian companies, as this concept, linked to international developments, allows to guarantee the sustainability of exports, as a customer and supplier of international companies, stressed Wednesday President of the International Forum of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Khalil Laabidi. In a statement to TAP, on the occasion of the start of the 2nd edition of the international forum on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), held under the theme "Digital transformation: Lever of a successful CSR strategy", he said that several companies have already begun the evaluation of social responsibility, through the diagnosis of its impact on society, the economy and the environment. This forum, organised at the initiative of the Tunisian Agency for the implementation of the CSR strategy and societal marketing, "AM Media Plus", with the participation of a number of experts and representatives of national organisations and companies, aims at reviewing the fields related to CSR, according to Laabidi. For the governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) Marouane Abassi, the adhesion of companies to the process of social responsibility is not a choice but a priority, given that this concept is one of the factors that allows them to cope with climate change, stressing the importance of new technologies in strengthening the capacity of employees of companies to achieve added value. He added that the BCT has adhered since its strategic plan 2019-2022 to the process of corporate social responsibility, through the implementation of a structural approach by adopting the ISO 26000 standards. He recalled that the reform of the governance framework of banks and financial institutions, which was published in 2021, mentions in its fundamental guiding principles, the consolidation of social responsibility within banks to ensure responsible and ethical behaviour towards the operators of the institution. On the fringes of the international CSR forum, exhibition areas presenting the experiences of some companies in the field of CSR strategies were set up.
