The former South African Head of State Thabo Mbeki arrived Wednesday in Luanda to attend the Meeting of Finance Ministers and Governors of the African Central Banks, African Caucus, set for 27 and 28 this month.

The former head of State, who did not speak to Angop at “4 de Fevereiro” International Airport, was welcomed by the State Secretary for Finance, Valentina Filipe, among other entities.

According to the organisation, Thabo Mbeki is attending the event in his capacity of chairman of the High-Level Panel on Illicit Financial Flows of the Economic Commission of the United Nations for Africa.

The two-day meeting will discuss major and current concerns that affect the economies of the continent, with stress to the construction of infrastructure and industrialisation.

Delegations of International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB), as well as from Namibia, Togo and South Africa, have already arrived in Luanda to attend the meeting.
